A bug has been confirmed in environments with installed IntelliPoint, which is utility software for mouse devices manufactured by Microsoft. When using this tool in DirectX mode, re-rendering the layout window will illegally overwrite menus and windows.
The following methods have been confirmed to be effective in working around this problem.
For (1), old versions of IntelliPoint can be downloaded from Microsoft's website. (Install a version before the Instant Viewer feature was implemented.)
To configure (2), right-click on the iPoint.exe executable file, click Properties and then Compatibility.
